Adding Payments Scope to your PAT

🔄 Works with the Filevine-Zapier Connector version >= 3.4.0

The Filevine-Zapier connector now supports the billing endpoints in the Filevine API, but the Payments Scope must be enabled on the personal access token (PAT) that your Filevine-Zapier connection is using. This article explains how to modify your existing PAT by adding the Payments Scope.
 

ℹ️ Note: If you have not already setup Filevine and connected your Org account to Zapier, please see the article titled: "Setup Filevine and Create a PAT For Zapier". This article assumes that you already have a working PAT-based connection between Filevine and Zapier.

⚠️ Important: To use the billing endpoints in Zapier that depend on the Payments Scope, you must be using a v3.4.0 of the Zapier connector or newer. Currently, as of March 16th, 2026, version v3.4.0 of the Filevine-Zapier connector is in beta and is available via invitation only. Please contact: support@vineskills.com to request access. All invoice and billing endpoints are only available by Creating Custom API Requests in Filevine-Zapier because no built-in actions are publicly available yet.

🪛 Adding the Payment Scope to your Zapier PAT

1. Log in to Filevine as an Account Admin.
2. Click your user icon (your initials) in the top-right corner of the page.
3. Select Manage My Account.
4. Once you're in the "Account Manager" area, click Access Tokens in the left-side menu.
5. From the Personal Access Tokens list, find and click on the name of the PAT that is being used for your Zapier connection (See arrow 1. "Zapier" in Figure 1 below).
6. In the right side pane showing the "Personal Access Token Details", make sure the "Payments API Access" option is selected (see arrow 2. in Figure 1 below )
7. Scroll to the bottom of the details pane, and click on "Confirm" shown Figure 2 below.

8. Now that you've added the Payments Scope to the PAT for the Filevine-Zapier connector, you should be able to use the billing endpoints in Zapier.
